Green Building Jobs - Living Off The Grid
Have you been looking for Green Building Jobs, but don't know where to turn? You might want to try living off the grid at the Dancing Rabbit Village. Recently we spoke with a new friend there, Nathan Brown and he has been giving us the low down on what they have to offer.
Are you tired of going through the motions with clients who want to appear 'green' but really all it amounts to is a big show? You know the ones I mean, we have seen it hundreds of times, they spend thousands of dollars and 'show' green on the outside, while consuming vast quantities of material and resources to live the good life. We have worked in the building trade for a long time and we knew there must be a better way to live. Our own choice was an independent lifestyle, but there are other choices you can make too.
How would you like to be surrounded by people who really care about ecological living and a sustainable lifestyle, all the while getting to express your creative building talent? How does no building code, or building limitations sound? You can build small eco friendly homes, all the while forgetting about those demanding high end consumers you used to work for.
You will be surrounded by people who care, people who have made a commitment to off grid living and providing you with the best opportunities for growth that we have seen in a long time.
Let's just run down some of the benefits for you...
- green building jobs that make a difference to the community
- no building codes so innovation is easy
- you will be really appreciated
- surrounded by people who share your values, sustainable and off grid living
- the cost of living at the Dancing Rabbit Eco Village is very low
How do they do it?
Two words came to mind when I spoke with Nathan, co-operation and impact. The residents of this village have on average only 1/10 of the impact on resources that the average North American does. They use resources that are local and they think sustainable from the first plans. Next, was an obvious sense of co-operation that is not found in many places anymore.
We remember our neighbors the O'Donnell's showing up everyday (without being asked) to help us get the roof on our own home. With smiles on their faces they happily worked all day, everyday until the rain and snow would thankfully fall outside of our home. It was a joyous time for our own family knowing that others shared our spirit of co-operation and just being there for others. It was a breath of fresh air to us, being new to the area.
Being a co-operator at heart we can really appreciate 'many hands' working to get a job done. It makes the work day just fly by and the sense of accomplishment is greatly enhanced.
With residents ranging in age from 2 to 60 all are welcome. If you have a sense of purpose, but no where to get rolling with your own dreams then give the good folks at Dancing Rabbit a look see.
According to Nathan Brown, "Living at Dancing Rabbit is great if you want to make a real difference, connect with others deeply, learn, grow, and live simply.I'm a member and I've lived here for almost 5 years.I'd like you to especially take note of how fulfilling this lifestyle is, and how much it brings people together. I think it is a real lie that we are all told that making a difference, or "doing the right thing" is hard. Look around, and you can see we are thriving, happy, and making a difference.
Life here isn't utopia, but it is far more fulfilling and satisfying to me, than life in the consumer culture."
